Ode to Tippy
Today was a hard day. We said good bye to Tippy, our dog of 3 years. No, she didn't die. We surrendered her to the Denver Dumb Friends League, a no kill animal shelter, this afternoon. After much consideration, we decided that she deserved a better life that what we were giving her. She never fully made the adjustment to Livvy and being second in the family. With another baby on the way and not enough time to spend walking her now, she needed a new home. It was very hard for me to take her and drop her off. I think I cried on the way there, during the whole process and for about 20 minutes afterwards. I am still a little teary when I stop and think about it.
Tippy was the dog that was always happy to see us, got way to excited for walks and always wanted attention. She never met anyone she didn't like or didn't like her and seemed to smile at everyone. We hope that she finds a home where she can be babied like she deserves. We will miss her and always hold a special place in our hearts for her. Good Bye!

Zoo on Thursday
We went to the Zoo on Thursday with Michelle, her two youngest boys and Gavin (all Livvy's cousins). Yes, I know that we go quiet often and it really is not that post worthy but it was such a nice easy day and I got some cute pictures. Livvy spent the whole time running to each exhibit and then not wanting to leave. I was a little disappointed because most of the animals were not out. We did get to see the Lions and Giraffes. We had lunch, ice cream and then went home. It felt so nice to go and leave without needing to see the whole zoo.
It's a Boy!
On September 1st, we found out that we were having a boy. I already guessed that it was a boy but it was nice to have proof of it. The ultrasound was very cool. He sooo did not want to cooperate with the tech. She kept having to bounce him to get him to move and then he wouldn't sit still! (I can hardly wait for 2 active children to chase.) He had his legs up over his head with his arms wrapped around the knees at one point.
Everything is fine with the baby. He weighed 14 ounces and had all fingers and toes.
We saw a profile of him as she was scanning. Trent and I turned to one another and both said "He looks just like Matthew!" Matthew is one of our adorable nephews. I just hope he has a smaller head. :)
We are planning on naming him Owen _____ . The middle name is a toss up between Russell and Michael. I am leaning toward Russell. Though we are reserving the right for last minute changes, if, when he is born, he doesn't looking anything like an Owen.

Labor Day
This Labor day we decide to kind of take it easy. That meant we stuck around the house on Friday, Trent watched college football on Saturday, Church on Sunday and Monday we spent doing family activities. Really by Monday, I was ready to get out of the house and do something together. We decide to go on a family hike with Chris (one of Trent's brothers) and his family, another brother, Nick and Trent's parents. We went to a state park in Castle Rock and walked their paved nature trail. We really did enjoyed it. Livvy loved to explore all of the rocks and plants and so did Tippy.
That evening we got together with the rest of the family here for a bar-b-que. that was quite relaxing and very fun. What a great holiday!

June, July and August
June
Nothing really happened. We all came down with the stomach flu, I turned 29, and Livvy went to nursery for the first time (happy dance) and decided that this was the month that she would finally walk. We were so happy that she finally did walk, we forgot to get it on camera. Some parents. We did buy Livvy a slide/swing toy for the outside too which she loved.
My pregnancy continued to go well. We went to the OBGYN for the first time on the 11th. She confirmed our due date for Jan. 12. You know it is always scary to go in, not knowing what to expect and hear "lets find out if it is a baby or not". My Mid-wife said that as she prepared for the ultra sound and my heart just stopped for a moment. That was my biggest fear that i had imagined the whole thing. There was a baby and it looked just like Eve off of WALL-E.
For Father's Day, we gave Trent his gift, a grilling apron with utensils that reminded him that he was "Hot Stuff".
July
We went to the amusement park a couple of times. Livvy, our little dare devil, loved the rides.
The Fourth was fun, if cold. I had to buy maternity clothes for the first time. We went to a pinic with the family and froze watching the Fireworks that night.
Livvy and I took a trip to Utah so that I could go shopping at IKEA. I decided to designate an official play room in the house, buy a real desk and several bookcases. I was nervous about driving the whole way by myself with Livvy but she did great. Actually, she slept most of the way or jabbered about what she saw. We had a great time, visiting with family and I enjoyed shopping.
My mom stopped for a visit on her way back from Utah at the end of the month. She helped me finish painting Livvy's room, put together 2 bookcases and my desk from IKEA. I started to feel like I was a slave driver but she really wanted to do it. She really helped me start on putting together my front room and start on the play room.
Livvy wanted to show off for her Nonnie and climbed into the shower fully dressed! I guess she wanted us to know that she could take a shower by herself.
August
Last month felt extremely busy, but I don't remember what we did really. I hate months like that! As I think about it, nothing really happened in August. I continued to grow bigger and the baby much more active. It seems as if he doesn't stop moving until I start. Livvy was her usually precocious self, smiling her silly smile all month to get out of trouble. At one point, I started counting to 3. I said 1 and she said 2 and grinned. That was it, I busted up laughing in the middle of Target. I am sure everyone thought I had lost it.You know pregnant mom with a toddler in the basket, stopped in the middle of the aisle laughing. She had no idea that she was in trouble and I had no idea that she knew 2 came after 1!

May was a month of more trips, beautiful weather, and one joyful surprise.
Yes, if you can read that it does say PREGNANT! After 7 years of trying, Trent and I have finally gotten pregnant. It was a very big surprise. I wasn't expecting it at all so I didn't even get to do all of those fun ways of surprising Trent. I was late and thought I would take the test for no reason than kicks. On May 5, I got up early, took the test and in less than two minutes it came back positive. All I could do was stare in disbelief. These tests never come back positive for me. I slowly walked back up the stairs, staring at the test the whole time thinking that it might change. When I walked into the bedroom, Trent rolled over and asked me what was wrong. I must have looked sick or something. I handed him the test. He asked me if I was serious and then if I was OK. I don't remember what I said. I was in shock. The rest of the day blew by in a blur. I know that somehow I watched my four nephews and Livvy. The next day we took another test just to make sure and then made the calls to our family to let them know. (I think even after 5 1/2 months it is still kind of surreal to me. FYI: We are having a boy. It will probably take me a few more days to get to that update and I wouldn't want to keep everyone in suspense.) The rest of the month was great but didn't compare to this.
Two weeks later, my sister -in-law Michelle and I flew to Michigan to meet another sister-in-law, Jen, for Time out for Women in Cincinnati. This was when my morning sickness reared it's ugly head. Of course for the plane ride we had turbulence. Michelle even got a man to trade seats with her by telling him he needed to talk to me to keep me from throwing up! You should have seen how fast he moved when I pulled ou
t my air sickness, industrial sized bag. We spent our time in Cincinnati well. We went to Time Out for Women on Friday night after seeing our lovely room and the next day for half of the morning. Checkout was at 11 and we needed to get our stuff out. At that point we decided to leave. On the way out we stopped at this great little town on the other side of the river. There was a fair going on and Michelle had to have an elephant ear. We spent 4 or 5 hours wandering 
around the fair and the shops open in the down town. We found a great boutique and a store that offered embroidered items while you waited. I got Livvy a cute backpack with her name on it and Trent's Father's Day gift. On the way back we saw the strangest statue outside of a Mega Church and stopped, where else but, at IKEA. Michelle and Jen had never been and that was just something we had to do. They were a little overwhelmed by it all.
Trent and I celebrated our 8th anniversary quietly. My morning sickness lasted the rest of the month and then just went away.

April
April came and went just as fast as March. All that winter weather we where wondering where it went finally showed up for a few days and Trent had his birthday bash!
Yeah, he is an old man and we all said good bye to his youth in a swinging Luau. Family and friends came, we played some games, talked, ate and Trent blew out his birthday candles. I did not give him 30 candles, I had some sympathy. I WAS already making him suffer through a party.
Easter showed up with the cold weather. We visited the Easter Bunny, while he was hiding eggs in the park. All the cousins had fun saying hi and gathering treats.
At the end of the month, my sister Liz came to visit for 5 days, Thursday to Tuesday. We had fun despite the cold, rain and snow. Did I mention snow? Yeah, snow. We had small amounts of snow when we should have but in April we had at least 18 inches over the weekend that Liz and her kids visited. We were sooo not prepared for it. She did not pack snow clothes and I had started to put away winter clothes already. That will teach me. Saturday, we woke up to snow. Trent wanted to go sledding that day and left me to call around and find snow clothes for everyone. We did have a blast sledding for the first 30 minutes then it turned to slush and we packed up and went home.
On Monday, it was 75 degrees, sunny and no trace of snow (and I thought Missouri weather was crazy!). We all went to the zoo. Kids saw the animals, Livvy road the carousal for the first time and everyone slept great that night.

March
In March, we continued to have wonderful weather and wondered where winter went. Trent's office was continuing to improve, which is always a good sign in our house. I was preparing for Trent's Big 30th party without him knowing. He hates parties. Livvy was continuing on with her "little miss" self and staying just as cute as ever.
Livvy and I took a trip to visit my mom and dad (and sister, her family and grandparents) for spring break. Yes, even when you are no
longer in school, there is always a spring break somewhere. Here is the trip in a nut shell. Plane ride was great, Livvy slept. Mom and I shopped (what else is there to do in Oklahoma). Dad played with Livvy whenever he could get away from work. Livvy discovered Whip Cream in the mouth, the outdoors, dirt and never looked back. Every time there was an open door, she made a be-line for it and the dirt patches out back. It is now here favorite place and there are hysterics when we come in. I have my mom to thank for it!We went to Dallas, where there was more shopping, specifically at IKEA (need I say more). Makka and Grandpa had a wonderful time getting to see Livvy and made a great to do out of it. Grandpa even gave one of his school buses from his collection.
Bridgette and her family enjoyed getting to see Livvy for the first time since she was born. Everyone had grown at least a foot. The cousins really enjoyed playing together in the backyard of course. Then we went home. It was a great week, but I was glad to be back home.

Ok, so I know that it has been about 6 months of non posts. You all can hate me but I will catch you up on what is going on in our lives. We have some BIG changes coming, so be patient. I really what what has happened in the last 6 months on here, however brief. Now on to what happened in March. . . .

Marching to the Beat of Our Own Drum
Well this last month has just flown by. I just can't believe that it is March already. Why does it seem that as I get older the time moves by faster? I have never seemed to understand this concept. I remember endless summers (and endless school years) as a kid. Playing outside all the time, enjoying the sun,etc. But now that I am an adult it seems there are no more endless anything, it just happens and then it is gone to memory, if I remember it at all. I guess that is what aging does to you. You end up with more and more things to do and less time to do it all in. No wonder simplifying your life is such a big concept lately. I sure need it!
Not to make anyone think that I am not enjoying my life, I am. Which brings me to the point of this blog anyways, the Redfearn Family life. Well here is the past month.
Trent's practice is starting to pick up again. We were all looking forward to March, when his schedule was starting to fill up more. He seems to be busy and enjoying life. Though the other day, he did let me know that Thursday was his favorite day of the week now. Trent does turn the big 30 this month. I keep telling him he is becoming ancient. He just turns around and tells me that I am not far behind. Too true. Don't know what we are doing to celebrate it yet. ;) He is becoming a basketball junkie,playing 3-5 times each week. It is good for him so no complaints on my end.
I am keeping busy with volunteering for committee's in church. I still don't know how i agreed to so many but still. My friend Lindsay and I attend aerobics twice a week. Let me tell you that an hour and a half of no stop moving kicks my butt every time. I barely make it to the hour mark some days. It is so worth it, though. I have only 5 more pounds to reach my goal! (btw i started weight watchers last September and have lost about 18 pounds so far. Yeah Me!! It did take me 3 months to lose my holiday weight but that is my own fault, bad habits and all) Here is were the beginning rant came from: I still have about 30 items on my to do list of projects that i can never seem to complete. Something always comes up or is more interesting that i would rather do. I really need to SIMPLIFY my life but don't want to. No more whining from me.
The weather has been absolutely gorgeous. We have taken advantage of it as often as possible with several trips to the Zoo and walks outside with Tippy.
Livvy is becoming a little miss diva, with a capital D. She keeps trying to take my cell and play with it so i finally handed her hers and what did she do but place it up to her ear and start jabbering away with several "hi's". Now anything can become a phone and heaven forbid that i have to take it away for any reason such as a real call coming in. I think I must talk on the phone just a little too much. I couldn't get a very good picture. Livvy kept turning away from the camera. It must have been a very private conversation. (sorry the video is sideways, I can't seem to figure out how to turn it.)She has brought me a headband to wear and insisted that she wear it. It wasn't just any headband but a shinny fancy one that soo did not match what she was wearing! She kept that one on all the way to the store, where thankfully it slid off as I was getting her out of the car. Why can't she keep the ones I pick out in for that long?
Livvy has always loved my jewelry but on Friday she decided that she just had to wear my necklace to dinner.
Livvy has also mastered the stairs up and down, fallen down about half of them once, discovered that the dog makes a great climbing rug and Tippy takes it, cut all four first year molars and is in the process of cutting her eye teeth two at a time. For anyone who cares: No she is not walking yet. Her attitude: Why walk when I can crawl so much faster! Ours: Would you walk already?!

More Catching Up to Do
Well so much has happened lately i haven't known where to start so here goes. . . .
Livvy's 1st birthday was fun. Family came over and we had cupcakes. Livvy started at the bottom and then went for the frosting. Can't believe she's 1.
Trent and i went on a cruise to the Caribbean. Had lots of fun and it was a nice break from everything. Really enjoyed the sun and sand.
Christmas and New Year's came and went in a blur and then it was 2009. We have just been staying close to home. Trent's business has slowed down a little so we are praying for it to pick back up again soon. I am starting to tackle all of my organizational projects and keep up with Livvy. She is in to everything and doesn't stop except to eat or nap. We all can't wait for Spring and Warmer weather.

Catching up . . . .
Well, I've had many requests to update our blog. Here is a brief update on the last 4 months.
We celebrated July with our sealing to Olivia in the Denver, CO temple. Our family that could make it did and it was a wonderful day. The spirit was very strong. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect sealing. Our sealer even had been in our place years ago and spoke some very wonderful words about eternal families and adoption.
August flew by and Labor day was spent with Trent's family doing temple work for his ancestors.
In September, Livvy and I visited Utah to see Liz and her family, Megan and Johann and My Aunt Terri. We had a blast shopping at Ikea and visiting Temple Square and just spending time with family. I so enjoyed seeing my sisters. Sometimes it feels like I am so far away from them!
This month has just flown by. Trent and I can't even believe that it is already Thanksgiving and then Livvy's 1st Birthday. I have been busy finishing painting my living room and keeping up with Livvy's every increasing energy. Livvy has a total of 8 teeth, can't decide what she wants to eat, can go from her tummy into a sitting position and is crawling on hands and knees instead of her army crawling. She says a total of 4 words Mama, Dada, Hi and Bye. For her Aunt Kristal, she will wave bye. Trent's dental office is taking off. He has 5 staff members and has doubled the production of the previous dentist. He loves going to work everyday, which is all i can really ask for.
Today we purchased our first SUV (pic coming soon). It is an 08 Blue/Grey Toyota Sequoia. I am so excited. We discovered that our Altima was starting to be a little small. I kept running into space issues and Trent wanted a car with 4 wheel drive for the weather. We went through an Auto Broker. It was the easiest way to buy a car! We met with our broker, Brian, told him what we wanted in a car what type of car we were looking for and then went home. He did all of the looking. We paid a lot less and got everything we wanted and then everything we wished for. I highly doubt that we will ever go to a car lot again. We had no need to haggle and he took care of everything.
We celebrated July with our sealing to Olivia in the Denver, CO temple. Our family that could make it did and it was a wonderful day. The spirit was very strong. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect sealing. Our sealer even had been in our place years ago and spoke some very wonderful words about eternal families and adoption.
August flew by and Labor day was spent with Trent's family doing temple work for his ancestors.
In September, Livvy and I visited Utah to see Liz and her family, Megan and Johann and My Aunt Terri. We had a blast shopping at Ikea and visiting Temple Square and just spending time with family. I so enjoyed seeing my sisters. Sometimes it feels like I am so far away from them!
October was marked by my mom visiting with us for a week. I loved having my mom here. She helped me decide on what to paint my living room and kitchen. I know that i had to have frustrated her! I kept saying i wanted to do one thing and then didn't like any of the colors she showed me! We did finally decide on a color scheme that i love. We also finished decorating Trent"s office. We took my mom up to Pikes Peak the day before she left. That was a very long drive up! It was very neat to actually see the tree line. The view from the top was magnificent! I was very sad to see her go. I always forget what fun it is having someone else who thinks like me around.
Livvy finally began sitting up all by herself thanks to my mom. What she wouldn't do for me, she wanted to do for her Nonnie! Halloween rounded out the month. Livvy was soo cute in her fairy costume. We had one of the warmest Halloweens in about 5 to 10 years. I was glad. We didn't even need coats! Livvy tuckered out after about 2 houses. So we just followed everyone else around.
This month has just flown by. Trent and I can't even believe that it is already Thanksgiving and then Livvy's 1st Birthday. I have been busy finishing painting my living room and keeping up with Livvy's every increasing energy. Livvy has a total of 8 teeth, can't decide what she wants to eat, can go from her tummy into a sitting position and is crawling on hands and knees instead of her army crawling. She says a total of 4 words Mama, Dada, Hi and Bye. For her Aunt Kristal, she will wave bye. Trent's dental office is taking off. He has 5 staff members and has doubled the production of the previous dentist. He loves going to work everyday, which is all i can really ask for.

Colorado, We're Here!
Well we made it! We packed up our town home in less than two weeks, finalized Livvy's adoption attended Megan's wedding, packed up, cleaned and checked out of the Town Homes and drove 12 hours to Colorado. When we got here all we really wanted was sleep.
We have closed on our house and are in the process of unpacking. There are boxes EVERYWHERE! I am trying just to unpack one room completely but then i can't find something and i have to go digging through all of the boxes to find it. Just a hint to anyone moving soon: Label everything with everything that is in the box, with the room the box belongs in and try not to mix stuff that belongs in different rooms too much. I knew this but still didn't do it.
We are enjoying living in our home. Tippy is loving the back yard. We have a sand pit that she loves digging in. I can just imagine what she is finding. We also have a den of rabbits that have taken up residence back there. Tippy now stalks them. It is hilarious! Trent and I are really enjoying have an actual bedroom and not just a room with a bed in it and Livvy just can't figure out why she has to lay on the floor during the day.
Tomorrow, Trent closes on his dental practice and then we can look forward to having a paycheck in the near future (i hope!).

We have a house!!!!!
After looking at over a 100 houses in 2 weeks, arguing over why we should pick this house or that or that city or this one, we have finally decided on a house. It is Highlands Ranch, Colorado, about 10 minutes from Trent's office. It was not our first pick of a home or floor plan but we think that it will be a great starter home for 5 to 7 years. Here are the pictures. The bedrooms aren't those colors anymore. It was repainted about 3 weeks ago.
The trampoline is gone now. I am glad that we didn't have to remove it. I am thinking eventually putting in a swing set there.
This is the front entry and front room. I don't think that i will put a formal dinning room there. I was thinking more of a sitting room/ library/study.
This is the Kitchen and dinning room. It has a little bit more space than our town home.
Family room. I am very excited about the fireplace.
Finished basement was a big plus to us.
These are the 3 bedrooms. They are pretty big based on Colorado standards. One will be Livvy's room, another a guest room and the 3rd is still up in the air.
The master bedroom. I really like the his and her closets and an actual door that can close to our own bathroom.
